Awesome Cities to Live: Figuring out where to move

Image
This is a live post. Will be updating this list over several months. Figuring out where to move is difficult. This list is to help organize thoughts and data of any city I'm considering moving to. At this point I am not writing reviews of these places nor am I ranking them. Maybe after I choose one I'll write the reasons why. Some of the basic things to consider for comparison are: Weather Access to large international airports Nature for hiking and cycling Earning potential, Average Salary  Cost of living Cost to buy a house (Not rent)

Australia Campervan Cost. Where to buy. Where to sell.

My 1991 Mazda E2000 campervan. It was my home and transportation for nine months. I did a nine month road trip in Australia starting in Perth and ending in Cairns. I bought a Mazda E2000 campervan to do this trip and noticed something. Campervans in Perth seem to have a higher value than campervans in Cairns. It was just a gut feeling at the time but it has stuck with me. I thought I should have done the trip the other way to save a few thousand dollars.

My Semi-Retirement

A temple at nightfall in the mountains of Japan close to Osaka. A place I never would have found time to visit if I hadn't taken my semi-retirement. My semi-retirement started April 2016 when I was 28 years old. It consisted of selling most of my stuff including vehicles, bicycles, electronics, furniture, laser engraving business, tools and whatever else I could. I also quit my full time engineering job in San Diego which was just a little bit stressful. After that, I moved my pile of cash into various bank accounts and started traveling.
